Anabiosis

Moving from working full-time in the steamy overpopulated concrete jungles of Tokyo to unpacking full-time in the arid deserted deserts of Washington … what can I say? I am blessed.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and for leaving all those comments. I needed them a lot and you can keep them coming! :) I am feeling much better (i.e. meaning I don’t feel like throwing up every time I eat, just sometimes, and no matter how much I sleep I’m still tired) and should be all better in a couple months.

Ben and I spent 7 days in Kauai, breathing silky air beneath the shadow of palm trees, walking on the beach, getting sand all over the bathroom, and eating sandwiches and drinking cocktails every day.

We moved into a lovely new apartment three days ago and I am now wondering daily how my mother is able to balance the equivalent of 2 full-time jobs and and cook and clean and be a wife and mother….

My 50 boxes of books haven’t arrived yet and even when they do, they won’t be unpacked till (d.v.) we buy a house sometime this summer, so it’ll be a few months till I see my precious babies again. Meanwhile, I’ve ordered a few books from Sky Cow Books … if you haven’t been there, check it out.

“Anabiosis” has been splattered on 7 times.

  • Good to see you blogging again! I look forward to frequent updates as you set out on your new journey. I think we ALL wonder how our mothers did it all! I still do, after 5 years of homemaking. :-)

  • Yay you’re baaaaack!!!

  • Congratulations!!! I want to see wedding photos!

  • Congratulations, Emeth! You don’t know me–I emailed you a few years ago when my husband and I were planning to move to Japan (we chickened out), and I’m a friend of Sarah’s–but I really enjoy your website. Good luck and blessings for your marriage.

  • Welcome to the Tri-Cities, Emeth. : )

  • pictures! pictures! We want pictures! :)

  • We rejoice with you and Ben! I look forward to seeing you at some point, hopefully more often when you were in Japan. :-)

Great post title. Very appropriate for one who was just married. I’m finding that there are many occasions of death and resurrection throughout life. Moving is another, even if you’re looking forward to where you’re going, it’s a death.

I’ll email you our new contact info so that we can keep in touch.

  • Leave your mark.
