Baby Dreams

I kept waking up last night with weird dreams. There is only one I remember because it kept restarting every time I fell back asleep. It was about a little baby girl with three big sparkly eyes. The third eye was between her mouth and her nose. I kept freaking out and waking up and then falling asleep again…. The pregnancy books say that pregnant women have vivid dreams but this was way too much. Argh.

  • Freaking out as in “This is so cool! Ben, we’re gonna make a fistful of cash on this one! We’ll be rich! Rich, I tell you! Rich!”-freaking out?

Yeah, that happened to me once too. Only the baby didn’t have three eyes.

  • You shouldn’t have visited that weird C-section art site. That was weird.

  • It’s true – dreams during pregnancy can be especially vivid and wierd! Once I had a dream that I had a baby – only he was about the size of a 1 year old and when I tried to nurse him/her, apple cider came out. Wierd, huh?

  • I second Austin’s admonishment.

    3 eyes? ewww…

  • I wonder what it would be like to see with three eyes . . .

My wife had lots of bizarre dreams during pregnancy, but she was often freaked out by my ability to immediately come up with plausible explanations for the dreams. Perhaps I should go into business . . . How’s “PregOracle” for a name? BTW you haven’t been reading the book of Revelation recently have you?

  • I haven’t been here since you went AWOL last year and I just clicked through from Miwaza’s blog and so… Congratulations on your marriage and your baby!

In reading your archives, I saw last summer you were interested in Persian astronomy. I’ve recently read the book The Gospel in the Stars written by a Lutheran pastor more than a hundred years ago, and he addresses what you were asking about. Fascinating reading.
