Six Teeth At A Time

As easygoing as her maple-syrupy smile may look, my little girl does not like to do anything the easy way. She popped 6 teeth at the same time (4 on top, 2 on bottom) a few weeks after her 1st birthday. She’s now working on 6 more.

She has started jabbering a lot. We don’t understand most of it but realized today she has been calling us “Emeh” and “Beh” for a while even though even we call each other “Mama” and “Daddy.” She loves anything electronic, especially cell phones, and will pick them up and say “Hi” over and over and over again. We gave her an old cell phone but she won’t play with it unless it’s charged and turned on. We just found out it can be used to make 911 calls even though we’re not paying for it or anything. Here’s hoping she won’t actually dial it though she’s come close. *sigh*

  • Connor actually called 911 when he was about 8 months old…I had no idea until a policeman showed up at our front door. I wrote the event down in his baby book as just one of the normal milestones like first tooth and such – “first time the police came to our front door in your honor” or some such. ;)

Not only are cell phones capable of dialing 911 without a service plan, but some phones will call 911 when you just hold down the 9.

Does your cell phone have keyboard lock, or whatever that is called?

  • Are those her first teeth? Jubilee chomps me every nursing session. The cute teeth are not so cute sometimes.

Emeth, have you and Ben got any puncture marks? I vividly remember the shocked look on our kids’ faces after they would bite us and we’d reflexively cry out in pain . . .

  • Kristina: Just holding down the 9 might do it? Agh. It’s not something I want to test…. LOL.

Rita: Her first teeth, 6 of them, came in at the same time, 4 on top and 2 on bottom. Not fun, lemme tell ya.

Chris: No puncture wounds, but we’re close. I’m still nursing her and that’s been really rough, but it just doesn’t feel right to wean her yet so we’re still going.

“Do not be afraid, I only want to bite your neck, bwa-ha-ha”
