Pretty Beautiful

I painted Rinah’s fingers and toes hot pink last week and for a couple hours afterwards, she kept coming back to me and saying, “I have pretty hands, Mommy!” or “Mommy, I have pretty toes!”

The moon was shining beautifully tonight in a clear sky and our street was lit up with moonlight so I held Rinah outside for a while and we looked at the moon and the stars. “Poofoo moo.” (Translated, “Beautiful moon.”)

As I was in the car tonight, I remembered a little talk I had with Cami a few months ago. I miss Cami, beautiful, beautiful Cami. She came to me twirling in circles and struck a princess pose.

- Emeth! I am soooooooooo beautiful.
- Yes, Cami. You are very beautiful.
- I know.

It still cracks me up. Here is Cami in a picture taken by Shilowe early this summer. Rinah looks at this picture and gets excited. “That’s Tami!”

Sick Sunday

We stayed home from church today ’cause we were all sick … fever, coughing, snot, etc.

Zuri doesn’t look too bad for a sick little boy who slept all day. His skin is becoming very white and hair is turning kind of reddish, but his eyes are still blue, blue, blue. He also started crawling a couple days ago. I can’t leave him anywhere now because he rolls around on the floor and scoots around pretty well.

Panettone is one of Rinah’s new favourite things to eat but as with all bread she still refuses to eat crust unless threatened with not being allowed to eat anything more. See how she is carefully scraping the crust with her teeth so she doesn’t have to eat any crust. Her eyes are getting darker but they’re still golden sometimes.

Two pottied babies with their daddy, all sporting amber necklaces. Rinah has been out of diapers day and night for 3 weeks now with only a few accidents.
